Facial Plastic Surgery is a sub-specialty of Otolaryngology. The scope is limited to the Head & Neck region. Our clinic does not perform procedures like Breast Implants, abdominal liposuction, removal of varicose veins of the legs, etc.

Facial Plastic Surgery is not a purely cosmetic discipline. A significant proportion of the work includes:

  • Soft tissue injuries to the face e.g. cuts, lacerations
  • Facial Fractures
  • Injuries to the ears
  • Reconstruction after skin cancers of the nose, ear and face
The scope of Facial Plastic Surgery is also not entirely surgical. We also provide:
  • Laser treatments
  • Fillers
  • Botox
  • Skin care products
Patients request for non-surgical treatments because they are non-invasive. However, they are usually less effective than surgery. If the cost of individual treatments are added up, they may cost as much, sometimes more, than surgery. It is impossible that there is a procedure that requires no surgery, no recovery time, no side effects and produces an effect that equals surgery.

Surgery can be done to correct the effects of aging or to modify appearance. Surgery to look younger is the safer of the two. Some young people desire strange modifications to their faces. They get the jaws shaved, chins made too prominent, add a hard silicone nose implant and have their eyelids shortened to get a wide-eyed look. One really needs to be cautious about this. While such a face may look cute in a photo, they look strange in person. Think about how the appearance will change with age or when that strange looks is no longer considered attractive.
